Survivor Ratings: Survivor Game Changers Episode 4 Keeps The Ball Rolling
Despite a slow start and bad early viewership, the Survivor ratings for Survivor Game Changers continue to indicate an ongoing upward trend.
The decision to try out a new reality gaming show in the middle of the Survivor offseason between Millennials vs. Gen X and Survivor Game Changers may be slightly responsible for the low viewership in the Survivor ratings so far this season. Hunted, a show about teams hiding from private investigators while on the run, meant CBS started Survivor season 34 a month later than usual, sending viewership off track.
That could be the reason why Survivor Game Changers debuted to the lowest-viewed premiere in the show’s history, although things are getting a bit better. Episode 1 and 2 saw 7.61 million live + same day viewers, episode 3 improved to 7.76 million viewers, and now (according to TV By The Numbers), Survivor Game Changers enjoyed Update: 8.1 million viewers watch on in horror as a tribal voting twist sent out a strong player early.
Per the Survivor ratings, in accordance to everything else, it was the most viewed broadcast primetime program, with Empire coming in right behind them at 9 p.m. with 7.89 million viewers. Additionally, Survivor Game Changers had a 1.7 rating with a 7 share, leading all other competitors in viewership, rating and share for the 8 p.m. timeslot.
CBS picked up Survivor going into the 2017-2018 television season, although only officially confirming a season 35. Considering that CBS lets the crew film two seasons back to back in order to maximize the efficiency of the production team, we’re likely going to see a Survivor season 36, as well.
