Survivor Game Changers episode 6 featured one of the most shocking boots in the show’s history, leaving former players reacting to the player voted out

If you’re looking to avoid SPOILERS, this is not the place for you. Beyond this, there will be SPOILERS abound for Survivor Game Changers episode 6. You’ve been warned.

The twists keep coming relentlessly in Survivor Game Changers and episode 6 was no different. “Vote Early, Vote Often” started off with a twist as Jeff Probst told the 15 remaining players to drop their buffs. When Debbie Wanner was left without a buff, she was then sent to Exile Island—which even that had a twist within a twist as she actually spent a day on a yacht talking with John Cochran.

Needless to say, it was a wild ride. But even with all of that going down, it couldn’t have compared to Tribal Council and the boot from Survivor Game Changers episode 6.

After 94 days of playing the game without ever being voted out, with two wins under her belt and having had only one vote cast against her, Sandra Diaz-Twine was voted out. She was always the easy target after the second swap of the season, but there was a glimmer of hope when Tai Trang again couldn’t keep his mouth shut. But alas, it wasn’t meant to be.

It almost goes without saying that this was no normal vote. After 94 days without having being voted out, Sandra Diaz-Twine’s torch being snuffed by Jeff Probst was a historic moment. And former Survivor players were well aware of that. They all (or mostly) showed their respect for a legend leaving the game without winning for the first time:

Of course, there’s always one in every group. And most of the time, the one in that group is a lot like Russell Hantz. Never forgetting their Heroes vs. Villains rivalry, Hantz was pleased with the boot:

Regardless of what Russell has to say, however, this is one of the most shocking boots in history. Yes, Sandra was going to be a target as a two-time winner. However, that this is her third time playing and we’ve never seen her torch in front of Probst is remarkable.

We too tip our cap to Sandra Diaz-Twine as she wholly deserves the adulation she received from former players. It’s hard to win Survivor once, but she managed it twice. For good measure, she then went down throwing haymakers in Survivor Game Changers. That’s the mark of greatness in this game if I’ve ever seen it.
