With “guest” members of the dream team showing off Survivor Game Changers episode 12 challenge “Full Tilt Boogey,” they’re likely loved ones stand-ins.

As the second half of Survivor Game Changers begins the race to the finish, the emotional impact of being out there with little food or water starts to kick in. This is why Jeff Probst will be bringing in loved ones in episode 12, “It’s Not a High Without a Low,” and perhaps will even include them in the challenge.

The latest challenge preview for Survivor Game Changers has been published on the show’s YouTube channel, highlighting a modified version of the Millennials vs. Gen X Loved Ones reward challenge. In it, teams of three will be clipped together, swim across several different water obstacles, reach the beach, crawl under a sand-level log, slide three ropes in a puzzle to drop a key stuck in a braided rope, unlock a chest with sand bags, and throw those sand bags at 30 blocks.

What I noticed when watching the video (seen below) is that while the standard Dream Team members run the initial part of the challenge, “guest” members of the Dream Team are the ones throwing the sandbags at the blocks.

These guests are a fair bit older than regular Dream Team members, and Challenge Producer John Kirhoffer refers to the crew as a “special” Dream Team. It’s not too hard to put two and two together to suggest that some of the loved ones in Survivor Game Changers episode 12 will be participating in the challenge as the anchors throwing the sandbags.

Most Loved Ones challenges involve family members, but usually, the teams are between individual Survivor players and their partners in real life. Splitting up the players and making them work together to achieve their mutual interest in spending time with their real world connections adds an interesting dynamic befitting a season called Survivor Game Changers.
