Survivor’s Tyson Apostol gives all the Y2K packing tips you’ll need

If you always wanted to see Survivor Blood vs. Water winner Tyson Apostol apply some of his comedic takes to (promotional) sketch comedy, here it is!

Love him or hate him, Tyson Apostol is certainly a character. When we first got to know him on Survivor Tocantins, he was a goofy quip that always had a one-liner holstered and ready to go. Whereas Randy from the season prior just said mean things in a cruel, funny way, Tyson’s barbs felt a bit more personal a lot more varied. He was just a guy who knew how to get under peoples’ skins.

Unfortunately, that kind of character doesn’t win Survivor too often. After an unfortunate self-own in Heroes vs. Villains, Tyson Apostol regathered himself and entered Survivor Blood vs. Water with a bit more tact. He still knew how to burn people to a savage decree, and he was the ringleader of the coconut bandits. Still, he learned from his mistakes and prepared for the season as best as he could, becoming the winner.

It’s those preparation tactics that make him such a great “spokesperson” for Security Public Storage, as “archive footage” of Tyson Apostol has emerged yesterday showing off tips and tricks for moving and packing ahead of the “pending” Y2K apocalypse.

It’s obviously a paid promotional sketch for a storage space company, but who could possibly ignore the sage wisdom of “Brodie the Gopher” just four days before Y2K? This video is packed to the brim with 90s references, including posters for Married…With Children, Limp Bizkit and Sinbad, cans of Surge, stickers of Happy Gilmore and a Jurassic Park lunchbox.

The video is supposed to show viewers how proper packing and moving tips are ageless pieces of advice, but I’m surprised just how deep the dive into the nostalgia well went with this 90s-inspired video. I almost forgot about the zoot suit revival!
