There’s a singularity that binds Survivor season 35, Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers, with most other seasons; bad pizza as a reward.

When you’re out on an island for two weeks straight and you’ve barely had any food or water, anything that’s not rice or coconut looks like a first-class meal. Even in that emotional and physical wreck of a state, when standing up is a fight against your body not to pass out, even then a Survivor pizza may look like the worst thing in the world.

Perhaps that’s just me talking in the comfort of my own home, but the Survivor season 35 episode 6 sneak peek shows off the reward challenge seemingly backs up my thinking on this. As the tribes walk into camp and barely react to Roark Luskin’s removal from the game (besides a weird, exasperated gasp from Cole Medders), Jeff Probst reveals a daunting task ahead of them.

Castaways have to run through a high-step maze to a ball. Then, two tribe members must use wooden sticks to hold that ball up while crossing a teetering balance beam and dump the ball into a device that unlocks movement on your boat. Once that has been unlocked, each tribe must pull their boat towards a platform with a rope, then use a slingshot to take down two targets at the final platform.

The reward for the Survivor season 35 tribe that comes in first? 10 thin-crust pizzas, each with some weird assortment of toppings on each. From what we can see in the close-up, they consist of mushrooms, red pepper rings, yellow pepper rings and a few black olives in the center. Additionally, cola bottles, olive oil and some hot sauce come with. The second-place tribe gets one cheese pizza to share.

Now I’m no expert on playing the game of Survivor, but as someone who has had their fair share of pies in their life, that may be one of the worst-looking pizzas ever. These players desperately need protein, and it looks like the only way to get some is to eat the cheese on top. Regardless of topping choice, the pizza itself looks so haphazard and thrown together as if someone had made their first pizza in their life.
