This extended clip from Survivor season 35 episode 9 confirms that Lauren Rimmer was able to pull off her Secret Advantage stunt without anyone knowing.

If you’re one of the people like me that pays attention to Survivor edgic, the Survivor season 35 episode 9 sneak peek clip offers up a lot of content to pontificate upon. Instead of showing off the castaways looking at a challenge and then cutting away right before it begins (a terrible, but oft-repeated trick done by CBS), you get to see a lot of positivity for Lauren and her trust in Ben.

This show, however, treats overconfidence as a slow, insidious killer, and this overt positivity should give pause.

This sneak peek starts off with Lauren, Ben, Mike and Ryan sitting down together as Chrissy joins in on a conversation we don’t get to hear. Cue a Lauren Rimmer confessional where she says the Secret Advantage from the last episode could not have gone any better, how it remains a secret, how it will bring her and Ben further into the game and that as long as they stay loyal to each other how things can work out for the better.

As a secondary benefit to this Survivor season 35 episode 9 sneak peek, it confirms what the true believers knew immediately; Lauren Rimmer got away without voting at Tribal Council and keeping things a secret. This means a professional actuary, who knew how to count the number of seconds in dozens of minutes to calculate how much longer Desi and Ashley stayed in the first Individual Immunity Challenge over Ryan, couldn’t count 10 votes when there were 11 people in the game.

From a primary editing standpoint, it deepens Lauren and Ben’s connection as a team and pretty much pushes the idea that one of them will make it into the finale episode. They don’t want to think about cutting down the majority when seven players remain, but they will not stab each other in the back. Even if one did, the editing makes it clear that the amount of trust between the two would suggest neither of them will vote for the other if one double-crosses the other.
