The most vibrant Survivor Ghost Island castaway yet, it makes sense that Stephanie Johnson will also hit the island in the brightest clothes imaginable.

I once worked at a place where there was a woman who was the most bubbly, joyous person I’ve ever met. No matter how rough things were, she was always armed with a smile and earnest laughter. However, when talking to a mutual colleague, she found those positive, outgoing ways to be fairly annoying, especially when everyone was down in the dumps. That memory came screaming to mind when I first saw Survivor Ghost Island castaway, Stephanie Johnson.

First off, props to her for finding a way to make money off of her passions. The yoga instructor and triathlete also has a clothing line that works perfectly for both facets, showing that you should always synergize your brands to diversify your money-making options! More important is the fact that she’s a motivated multi-tasker that’s mentally and physically fit, something that is important when tribes need to decide who to carry forward past Tribal Council.

That sociable side of Stephanie Johnson will certainly help her find allies she wants to work with, especially considering so many of her fellow Survivor Ghost Island castaways’ first impressions of her is that she’s the life of the party. So many people call her “bubbly” or “friendly,” and many would like to work with her in an alliance. She’s certainly got people thinking about her in the pre-game.

At the same time, too much attention might be a bit of a negative as the game goes along. Stephanie Johnson sticks out like a sore thumb, and the 90s-era colorization of a neon green top with an equally vibrant pair of leggings means it’ll be hard not to see her coming. On a social level, it will even be hard for her not to sneak off, as you can tell she’s talking to someone if you see parts of highlighter green shining through the brush.

Furthermore, even though I and many others find her positive outlook refreshing in a world full of cynicism, Survivor is only going to extrapolate everyone’s quirks to an extreme degree. Encouraging others to keep positive when people are starving on half the allotted rice of any previous season may rub people the wrong way, and plenty of great pre-merge characters on this show have been voted off for lesser transgressions.

Outside of her physical strength (something underrated in female players of this game), her CBS bio shows Stephanie Johnson talking about her adaptability. “Plan A quickly becomes Plan C and it doesn’t shake me up. I can endure pain both mental and physical with a smile on my face.”

Something to note more than the ability to adapt is that she’s willing to wear a smile after a blindside or something not going her way. Plenty of players such as Ali Elliott from last season get into confrontations after getting thrown for a loop, but Stephanie’s positivity in this regard is undeniably important to a good late-season social game.

Survivor is dynamic. You are never going to see a straight Pagonging (or even a Pagonging with a one player exception) ever again because of how much an emphasis on making big moves is for these superfans. Stephanie Johnson, if she knows how to keep her positivity a benefit, has the skills, the abilities and the attributes of someone to make it far past the merge.
