ENTERPRISE, AL - JUNE 05: ***EXCLUSIVE COVERAGE*** Survivor season

We asked you if you wanted to see a season only of Survivor winners and/or Survivor legends in the near future. Here are the results.

Late last week, we opened up a poll to our Surviving Tribal community, asking whether or not you would be interested in watching a Survivor winners or “Legends” kind of season. There has been speculation dating back years that something special is in store for season 39 or 40, tying into the “39 days…” theme or 20th anniversary of the show being on the air.

Although we’re conflicted on a site level (I proposed reasonable pros and cons for either argument that come from a genuine lack of a solid answer on the subject, it seems like you could ask anyone else in the community and you’d come up with a unique, nuanced stance. It seems like the people to vocalize their opinion would say “neither,” but our poll results say otherwise.

As of the release of this post, most of our community would love to see both a Survivor winners and Survivor legends season based on the results of our poll, coming in at 47%. Following suit, 29% of the vote would want to see only an all-winners season, 12% would prefer an all-legends season (not restricted to winners) and finally, just 12% would prefer neither (no returnees).

That means seven out of eight people in our community would like to see either another all-legends season or an all-winners season happen relatively soon, with a more than two-to-one preference seeing something that’s never happened before; only winners competing against other winners.

It’s an interesting proposal, considering that it will be nearly impossible to get done. There are only 14 individual female winners (Sandra Diaz-Twine won twice), Natalie White will likely never involve herself in the show again and Jenna Morasca might not be asked back for a multitude of reasons. That leaves eight to ten women needing to be available, able to compete and okayed by CBS to get cast.

A legends season might be more of a viable route for casting, but either proposes an interesting change of pace when it comes to Survivor returnee seasons!
