One player’s piece of parchment that might blow up where everyone stands in this game, as the Survivor: David vs. Goliath episode 8 promo raises questions.

Warning: This post dives into portions of the upcoming episode 8 of Survivor: David vs. Goliath, “You Get What You Give,” providing possibilities to what a scrap of paper entails.

Most Survivor promos offer vagueries and interesting hooks that prop up an episode and make it more interesting than it possibly could be. That isn’t the case with David vs. Goliath, as this season has surpassed the likes of many so far. The pre-merge was stellar, and even a unanimous 12-1 vote at the merge showed the strength of these players, the format and the editors at hand.

Though it’s not the editors making the commercials for television, the marketing team at CBS has been keeping up the fun. They created the Survivor: David vs. Goliath episode 8 promo and not only did they reveal that there was another power in play, but they danced around its secrecy and how it impacts the end of the episode.

It’s a very manic promo, with Gabby answering the promo’s question, “Have you heard the word?”, by answering, “Yes, we have!” We also have players like Davie suggest this episode’s so good that “It’s perfect,” that the shock factor “Is a good or bad thing” for Christian and Mike, followed by Nick holding up a piece of paper that says “The Surprise Ending” with multiple question marks on that.

Considering some Survivor commercials have straight-up changed the color of player buffs with photoshop before, I wouldn’t be surprised if Nick’s piece of paper points to a new advantage. I believe it hints at an Idol Nullifier, which makes sense; only Carl knows what one is. In fact, this could be the advantage hinted at by Gabby at the merge feast last episode.

The rest of the promo offers up random tidbits not related to the plot at large, but it’s great to get confirmation that Davie exists. He was invisible at the merge, with no sentences spoken all episode.
