Remember when the season started out as a real battle for survival? A touch of that returns for the Survivor: David vs. Goliath episode 13 preview video.

The penultimate episode of a Survivor season is always the diciest spot. There are usually seven or six players left in the game and it’s the final trio or duo of days where players can sit around camp, plot and scheme for days ahead. That’s right, David vs. Goliath episode 13 marks the last three-day period of the game before a player is voted out one by one, day by day from the finale’s opening Day 36 to the last boot on Day 38.

That’s why “Are You Feeling Lucky?” is the last respite for the players, as the episode 13 preview video highlights the Immunity Challenge as to avoid any pretense of spoilers ahead of such a momentous, important episode. This is the last time where it becomes easy to find a Hidden Immunity Idol or any last-ditch advantage (unless you’re Ben Driebergen, of course).

Day 35 brings us the patented “pretend you’re a ball waiter” Immunity Challenge returns. It first made its appearance during Redemption Island where Natalie Tenerelli won the only achievement for her Survivor resume and has only been won by men since. San Juan del Sur added a cool variation by making players balance the platform of balls by holding two ropes as reins, repeated in Cambodia and Ghost Island.

What separates the David vs. Goliath version from other Survivor seasons is the Fijian rain. It’s become a hassle for the players and production for the entirety of the show’s run, and now the relatively drizzling rain will add extra slipperiness. We might have a drastically reduced challenge run, especially in comparison to the five-hour extravaganza from a few episodes ago.

This is the last hour-long episode of the year, as December 19 brings us the two-hour 2.5-hour  David vs. Goliath finale followed by the hour-long 15-minute-long reunion.
