Survivor: David vs. Goliath episode 12: The Rock Stars are back in town!
Last week’s episode of Survivor: David vs. Goliath, along with a secret confessional from Mike confirms that the Rock Star alliance is back.
Out of all the named alliances in this season of Survivor, the Rock Star alliance appears to be the only one that is still intact. Nick and Angelina winning the Reward Challenge and choosing to bring Mike along allowed the Jabeni tribe to reconnect. On top of Mike and Nick strumming their air guitars, Mike confirmed the resurgence of their duo in this secret confessional below.
The logic behind Mike’s statement makes a lot of sense. Nick and Mike had to go their own ways as the first few votes after the merge still featured a battle between David vs. Goliath. In the process, they lied to each other and voted against each other to stay true to their tribes. However, with only seven people left, it has now transitioned into an individual game.
This confessional made it clear that both Nick and himself have two targets in mind at this point, being Alison and Christian. Whoever doesn’t win immunity or find an idol will probably go next. The big question is who will become the target once those two or gone, or if one of them goes on an immunity run? How long will this Rock Star alliance last?
I think that question will determine if Mike can actually play a winning game or not. If Mike decides to stick with Nick to the end, voting out other threats including Kara and Davie, then he could be sitting next to Nick at Final Tribal with zero chance of winning the game.
On the other hand, Mike’s only realistic shot of becoming Sole Survivor is if he works with Nick to vote out one or two big threats and then blindsides him at five or six people left. At this point, Nick has played such a strong game that I could see him wanting to bring Mike with him to Final Tribal knowing he can beat him easily. If Mike is able to realize that fact and act on it before the Final Four, the Hollywood filmmaker may deliver a winning performance.
