The Survivor: Edge of Extinction episode 8 press photos show off the finished Vata tribe flag product, two challenges, and players planning the next move.
This post will showcase the Survivor: Edge of Extinction episode 8 press photos, showcasing events that will take place during next week’s show.
After a wild, raucous and downright confusing merge, Survivor: Edge of Extinction is ripe for opportunity. A Kama six alliance has emerged from the shadows, striking at the most visible opportunity to take out one of their own and show loyalty to themselves. Meanwhile, Lesu is trying to vote themselves out instead of bonding together, seeing Devens as a threat instead of an ally.
This sets up a more intriguing Survivor: Edge of Extinction episode 8, as the fallout might be a bit more compelling than the setup. At least, that’s what the CBS press photos seem to illustrate, with a few pained faces showing just how much they were played.
This is what Joe Anglim decided was worth more to complete than socializing with others or playing the game of Survivor ahead of his vote-out. It’s a hell of a tribe flag, however; perhaps one of the best.
With the Lesu tribe completely bamboozled this week, players are starting to scramble. Here is Wardog working with Gavin, hoping he isn’t next on the chopping block.
David is opting for a more basic approach; painting himself in a silly way while Aurora, Kelley, and Lauren look on in grated bemusement. Aurora looks the worst off after being completely blindsided the last vote (more of that in other photos).
Another way to build bonds is to play … backgammon? I’m not quite familiar with the game, and it’s a makeshift board game with scraps as pieces. Either way, playing games keeps the mind sharp.
Realistically, there’s not much to do once the merge arrives and there’s enough sleeping room set up for everyone in the shelter. You can strategize and socialize all you want, but you’ll need energy to survive and thrive in the challenges.

Speaking of challenges, we will have two in Survivor: Edge of Extinction episode 8, with the first being between two different yellow and blue groups.
Two groups of six will see two players start and swim towards a platform, with one player holding up a ladder to a bird’s nest where two bundles are roped to the structure. Lauren, Julie, Kelley and Gavin are on the yellow team, while Aurora, Rick, Wardog and Eric are on the blue team.
After players bring their puzzle slats to the mat, the two puzzle players need to shove the piece of wood while standing on their own platforms, producing an image and winning reward. Ron and David are solving the puzzle for yellow, meaning Victoria and Julia are working on the puzzle for blue.
Looks like (Americanized) Chinese food is on the menu for the reward winners, with stir fry, sodas, take-out boxes and weird pastries or dumplings available.
The Immunity Challenge is a much simpler affair; you need to stand on your tippy toes to hold a block against a frame surrounding each player’s body. The last player standing wins.
Here are the competitors as they start the competition. Based on Victoria’s reaction while competing in the Immunity Challenge to somebody collapsing to her right (per the “Next Time On Survivor” teaser), we may see Eric, Kelley, Julia, Gavin or David be victim to the harsh reality of this game.
