It’s clear that Rick Devens is one against the world, but everyone has an equal shot of winning a reward in the Survivor: Edge of Extinction episode 13 preview.
The Survivor: Edge of Extinction episode 13 preview video for “Idol of Bust” shows off the early portions of the coming Reward Challenge as it will air on television.
As the commercials on television have been teasing, Survivor: Edge of Extinction is currently The Rick Devens Show. Not only has the news anchor from Macon, GA done everything in his power to increase his threat level, but he’s seemingly embracing the role as the odd man out, doing everything in his power to entertain himself at the detriment of others.
However, one thing that equalizes all odds is the Reward Challenge, and the Survivor: Edge of Extinction episode 13 preview shows a new wrinkle on a traditional mashup of standard Survivor obstacles. The first portion involves throwing a ball into a downward slope, with players needing to run through a small rope obstacle maze and emerge the other side to catch it before it lands.
Although we only see that new first portion, it appears as though players will need to do this twice with two balls, bring them to a sand pit they’ll need to dig themselves under and finish by landing their two balls atop an end platform high in the air. As a reminder, this will take place as early as Day 32, meaning players will be throwing balls up in the air while working on a month’s dehydration and light-headedness.
Considering how much the “Next Time On Survivor” preview and this week’s commercial focuses on Rick Devens, it makes sense to tease one of the only things that will equalize screentime for all. This is the Final Six reward, so whoever does win reward has a huge advantage in making endgame plans and possible alliances heading into the final week of Edge of Extinction.
