The Edge of Extinction made a big impact on the game late. Upon Chris re-entering the game with a hidden immunity idol, he targeted Victoria since she was the biggest threat to win.

At the start of the Survivor: Edge of Extinction finale, Victoria was aligned with Gavin and Lauren. Together, the three enjoyed a 3-2 Kama majority over the Manu members. However, Chris defeated Joe to return from the Edge of Extinction and get back in the game, balancing the numbers out.

Armed with the knowledge of what the jury was thinking, Chris immediately targeted Victoria. Chris knew the two biggest threats to win were Rick and Victoria. However, Rick was in possession of a Hidden Immunity Idol. Chris also revealed to Lauren he knew about her idol (thanks, Kelley).

At the Immunity Challenge, Julie pulled off her second immunity win with some assistance from Chris. Back at camp, Gavin and Victoria pitched a plan to vote Chris right back out. Rick considered this move as he was not sure he could trust Chris.

Upon his return from the Edge of Extinction, Chris was given a two-piece Hidden Immunity Idol that would gain full power after Tribal Council on Day 36. The catch is, he had to give half of it to somebody for Day 36’s tribal. He chose to give half of it to Rick as Rick had also returned from the Edge of Extinction earlier in the game.

Chris promised final four to secure Rick’s loyalty. However, Chris was not sure he could trust Rick as Rick had already betrayed him before. So, Chris went to Lauren and got a promise from Lauren to use her hidden immunity idol on him.

At Tribal Council, Rick played his Hidden Immunity Idol for himself. Then, Lauren played her idol for Chris. Rick’s idol negated two votes against him and Lauren’s idol negated two votes against Chris. This resulted in Victoria being voted out by a vote of 2-0-0.

The biggest reason Victoria was voted out of Survivor fifteenth this season was that Chris came back from the Edge of Extinction. Chris had 28 days to hang out with the jury so he knew that Rick and Victoria were the biggest threats to getting jury votes. With Rick having a hidden immunity idol, that left Victoria as the next most logical target for Chris.

The other reason Victoria was voted out fifteenth was because of Hidden Immunity Idols. The votes were split; two for Rick, two for Chris, and two for Victoria. However, Hidden Immunity Idols were played on Rick and Chris, which negated the votes against them. Rick and Chris’ votes being negated meant Victoria was the only one who received votes and she was voted out of Survivor as a result.
