Reem Daly spent the most days on the island out of any Survivor first boot in the show’s history. Should Edge of Extinction’s mayor, Reem Daly, return?

Welcome, one and all, to our post-season Survivor: Edge of Extinction wrap-up by bringing the focus to you, the reader. We thank you so much for your continued support over the years, as it looks like the 2019 – 2020 slate of seasons, starting with Island of the Idols, is going to be ripe with controversy, unforgettable moments and highfalutin gameplay.

Before we can move forward, let us reflect on what this past season of Survivor has brought us. Each post-season, we ask you a simple question and rephrase it 18-20 times, depending on the number of castaways each season carries; do you want to see this player return in a future season of the show?

As we ask this question, go into the consideration that the show will bring back players to compete in future season and, for all intents and purposes, it would be a returnee season that would be most beneficial for you. The goal is not to say yes or no because you love/hate returning player seasons, but because you like or dislike the experience of seeing that player again.

We start from the beginning of Edge of Extinction, as Reem Daly entered the game less than pleased to have returning players join her Manu tribe. Regardless, she acted as a motherly guardian to all in her three days playing on Manu, moving others’ clothes and helping Keith Sowell learn how to swim. She really saw herself as a guardian figure to Keith, but he did not treat her in kind.

After Manu lost the first Immunity Challenge on Day 3, Keith, Wendy and Reem had separated themselves from the other six players on the tribe. Unfortunately, 6 > 3, and in wanting tribe strength and not wanting someone to touch and move their clothes, Reem Daly was deemed really unfortunate, being the first one voted out of the season.

As we would learn, however, the Edge of Extinction bears gifts in exchange for pain. She would be the first player to take up a livelihood on the Edge of Extinction island, living by herself for three days before greeting others who would be voted out later. No matter what, Reem had something to say to those joining the squad, with many one-liners reflecting the mental and physical drain starving takes out on a player.

She did not win her way back from the Edge of Extinction in either challenge, but she brought laughs and frustration, anger and serenity, yin and yang. Vote here in our straw poll and let us know if Reem Daly should return in a future Survivor season.
