The Survivor Reddit community was blessed with two community Q&A periods in as many days, as Edge of Extinction’s Aurora McCreary dished on her season.

After the first seven episodes of Survivor: Edge of Extinction (which included the merge and the first boot in the known jury phase), Aurora McCreary had just two confessionals, airing one each in the first two episodes. Other than her status as being on Team Joe even as a lesbian (her words, roughly) and how dancing has become Kama’s thing during episode 2, we knew nothing about Aurora for weeks.

Finally, we started to learn more about her personal struggles in both the game and in life, but it seems like we were robbed of her bold, aggressive, but hilarious attitude in most of the edit. Thankfully, her personality shines through heavily in her Survivor Reddit AMA, which covers many of the things we didn’t see on television as well as her thoughts on the game.

Contrary to popular belief in Survivor: Edge of Extinction, Ron and Aurora weren’t enemies but mostly allies that happened to get on each others’ nerves. She also talks about wanting to work with David and Wendy if she were on the Manu tribe, as well as cutting Kelley if the returnees swapped starting tribes.

She also had an interesting perspective on the Edge of Extinction as one of the people who spent the least amount of time on the island of those who went. She concedes that while not liking Chris’ Final Five idol, Devens didn’t have to give his half back. In fact, the Edge of Extinction is a twist she isn’t a fan of at all, as it was just a “cold island” to her to get some sleep before the Day 35 challenge.

What gets me is that Aurora confirms a Chris Underwood talking point in the finale; Victoria was a jury threat (one that would win in a second season). I’ve talked at length at how bad the Edge of Extinction season theme twist is, but hearing from the jury confirming Chris’ talking point, which allowed him to convince Lauren to play an idol on him (a fact learned on the Edge), illustrates just how overpowered he was re-entering the game.
