With two weeks of gameplay completed, we’ve seen a power alliance form and crumble. Let’s take a look at the Australian Survivor 2019 week 3 power rankings.
19. Simon
Simon is a virtual non-entity in Australian Survivor 2019. I have no idea who he is as a player, who his closest ally is, nor who would want to take him to the end. He kicked a field goal, which was cool, I guess. Not enough to save him from being on the bottom.
18. ET
ET is a bit more outspoken, wanting to keep the tribe strong with the athletes alliances Steven Bradbury formed. However, after trying to build an insurgency vote against Pia, he folded like a cheap suit. He’s now on the bottom of a tribe that often goes to Tribal Council.
17. Baden
If Baden makes it to a tribe swap and the numbers are on his side (a likelihood thanks to the Contenders’ immunity prowess), there’s a lane for Baden to skirt through to the merge. However, right now, he seems like he “proved himself” by racing through that Reward Challenge, and I’m not sure how much more he can prove himself.
16. Casey
The two things Casey has done so far is to be edited as overbearing during the shelter-building process and virtually strong-arm herself into sitting out a “jump into water” challenge instead of a survivor of one of the most horrific tsunamis in history. Not a great look so far.
15. Sarah
Sarah reminds me of Damien from the previous Australian Survivor season; given a hero’s welcome by her tribe before being voted out to keep the tribe strong. Though everyone played up that they weren’t bothered by her challenge performance, it may prove more critical if the Contenders lose immunity.
14. Sam
Australian Survivor has so many castaways that they tend to bury some players early in the edit. Sam is such a person, as I have no idea where she stands on the tribe, who would keep her nor who would vote her out. I feel like she’s strong enough to keep around, but I have no idea what she brings to the show.
13. Ross
Ross has been given the bumbling fool edit early in Australian Survivor, but you need that kind of character to provide some entertainment at camp. Ross is a floater, for sure, but he isn’t being targeted. His vote is essential to sway the flow of things on the Champions tribe, as he’s a genuine wild card.
12. Pia
She’s received votes at several Tribal Councils; however, the numbers are in her favor at this time. She has a voice in strategic conversations, and with David becoming a golden god, she might be part of the group who will eventually take him down.
11. Hannah
Hannah’s edit has been somewhat subdued so far, but she’s been a great challenge performer with dextrous and puzzle-oriented gameplay. I don’t think the Contenders will target her at this time.
10. Janine
I’ve been really impressed by Janine. She poured her CEO-backed resources into tackling Australian Survivor on all facets, and she’s been playing reasonably hard despite previously being in the crosshairs. She can work with David in the long run or use him as a meat shield to further her game.
9. David
Speaking of the golden god, David’s spot on these Australian Survivor 2019 power rankings would have been a lot higher had he not talked down to ET and Simon in targeting Bradbury. A consensus 9-1 vote was fraught with drama and whispers, showing how tenuous his stranglehold on the tribe is. A Hidden Immunity Idol should keep him safe for a while.
8. Harry
Harry, I swear to god, if you ever go back to Tribal Council with a stick in your mouth and try to look smug again, I don’t know what I’ll do. Thankfully for him, his mateship-free bro alliance has kept him safe so far.
7. John the Mullet
Betsided
There’s not much complexity to John’s game, but he’s undoubtedly well-liked by everyone in the game. He’s going to help carry the Contenders through to the merge, but I’m not sure how long he is for the game after that. Until then, enjoy the ride!
6. Matt
There’s nothing more badass than to be an educator and a pro wrestler at the same time. It gives him the compassion to empower his tribe while taking on the physical powerhouses of the Champions tribe. He’s a great character so far.
5. Abbey
Abbey may have had a target on her back for flipping, but she’s in too strong a position as a swing vote for the majority alliance to turn on her just yet. Having stronger women is a massive plus in one-on-one competitions, and she’s more than proven her worth.
4. Shaun
Though he may have been duped into giving up a Champions idol, the fact that Shaun has a close partner early in the game in Daisy, as well as the dependency of his tribe, and has crossed over to the Champions in making an idol trade, shows his approachability.
3. Daisy
One of the few players to have a core partner (a tenet of long-term editing), Daisy is one of the Contenders’ most dependable competitors and is a character highlight. She’s such a great personality, and she hasn’t made herself an enemy of any of the power players on her tribe.
2. Andy
Though I’m always wary of “I’m a superfan” power-heavy edits in early Australian Survivor seasons, Andy has talked the talk and walked the walk so far. He’s their leader without looking like a Bradbury or a David in asserting dominance in an offensive way. He’s everyone’s friend right now.
1. Luke
The king of the jungle is back in full swing! He hasn’t been the primary focus this past week, but he’s still a leader within the Champions while holding a Hidden Immunity Idol. He has struggled a bit in the challenges, but in a very dry Champions tribe, he is a beacon of light. Can’t wait to see him creepin’ towards the merge.
