International seasons have had their time to shine in the summer months,Big Brotheris coming to a close, and Fall is here; it’s finally time for the return ofSurvivor!For the 39th season of at least 39 days of competition, CBS is bringing back two of the show’s most iconic winners ever in Sandra Diaz-Twine and Boston Rob Mariano to teach new dogs old tricks of the trade.
We have an eclectic group of individualsmaking up the 20Island of the Idolscastaways, including the first-ever player born in Canada withBrampton, Ontario’s own Tom Laidlaw. As such, we’ll be expanding our episode coverage throughout Tom’s stint in the game by providing Canadian reference recaps, pointing out all the Canadianisms brought to the show.
Maple leaf-infused players aside, there are 19 other great individuals playing, including (somehow) two personal injury lawyers, many individuals in education fields, an Olympian and a poker player. All of them will be split between two tribes of 10, with the
cursed
orange tribe being Lairo and the purple tribe being Vokai.

TheSurvivor: Island of the Idolsepisode 1 premiere will be 90 minutes long, continuing the odd-season tradition of having an extra-long debut. This way, we’ll get a better idea of the castaways before our attention is taken away from them to focus on the two winners who won’t have the chance to win this season, acting as coaches running a boot camp for a lucky individual.
Who will be the first person to visit the Island of the Idols? Who will be the first boot in months to actually be voted out of the game on Day 3? Those questions and more will be answered tonight, and you can watch the action using the info below!
