It all comes down to this; tonight marks the final episode of Survivor: Island of the Idols. Not only that, but it will also mark the end of the show’s second decade, capping off a ten-year period bookended by the lowest of the lows and filled within the highest of the highs. This season reflects that mentality very earnestly, as it really lost the steam it picked up in the early going.
Five players remain, as Tommy Sheehan, Lauren Beck, Janet Carbin, Dean Kowalski, and Noura Salman all compete for the chance to become the 39th champion of 39 days of competition (plus Tina Wesson’s three extra days). However, each will be given one final test on the Island of the Idols, as Boston Rob Mariano and Sandra Diaz-Twine will finally let Tommy in on a secret his fellow castaways already know.
Who is going to win it all? It could be Noura, the cooky yet competitive entrepreneur who has been putting mind over matter to overcome two individual Immunity Challenges. Detective Dean might crack the case of the Sole Survivor title by managing to make some last-minute big moves to sway the jury.
Janet is more than beloved by the jury, and she could become the oldest player to win the game. Lauren’s strategic prowess matched with her social game makes her an obvious threat to win. Tommy might have to teach his castaways how a winning game is made by having even more people trip over themselves to hand him the information necessary to win.
