You should watch the Survivor at 40: Greatest Moments and Players live stream online tonight to recap on the show’s history in time for Winners at War.
There was once a time where Survivor and Friends (one of the most popular sitcoms in the history of US television) were competing in the ratings. That was back in the way distance of the early 2000s when reality show contestants mostly had earnest, honest stories to share, and there wasn’t an entire cottage industry on becoming a public figure being obnoxious as a character.
That was close to 20 years ago (if you could imagine it), and CBS is more than happy to celebrate the show’s illustrious history. Survivor at 40: Greatest Moments and Players will take a look back at, you guessed it, the greatest moments and the iconic players that have represented the show’s near 20-year history on television.
Sneak peeks and promos have hinted at some of those discussions, such as the Rob and Amber Mariano love story unfolding on All-Stars. Even though Richard Hatch won’t be on Winners at War for reasons that he and Jeff Probst disagree on, the first season will likely be the place to start the show, as you can’t talk about what makes this show amazing all these decades later without covering the originators of the game.
From there, it’s easy to speculate about which Survivor players or moment will be discussed. With Parvati competing and Erik Reichenbach never having the chance to rest, giving away immunity to Natalie has to be there. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see double idol plays, maybe Ben’s Final Seven journey to the end, and maybe even Denise going to every single Tribal Council of her season and winning.
