It looks like the players are more than willing to play into the season theme as Survivor: Winners at War episode 2 promos tease a coming war.
It’s weird to be coming off the long weekend and anticipating a new episode in an active season of Survivor in even-numbered seasons as opposed to, you know, waiting for the premiere. Having a two-hour premiere take up just one episode in the scheduling means more content for Winners at War, and it seems like we have a lot more to watch in anticipation of episode 2 this week.
For example, the official Survivor: Winners at War episode 2 promo hinted at a coming war between Boston Rob and whoever voted out his wife, Amber Mariano. We also have Ben looking around frantically for others while huddled over something while sitting on the ground, making it look like he found a Hidden Immunity Idol.
With the “Next Time On” preview suggesting that Adam and Denise are involved with Ben’s discovery, it could be that he finds something of theirs and has to be informed by production that whatever he finds isn’t his. It’s also possible one of those two gets a clue, and somehow Ben is involved in figuring out their information before going off on his own. Regardless, Boston Rob is mad, and Ben seems glad.
Seemingly set to start off the next episode is Amber and Natalie looking miserable on the Edge of Extinction, as the first Survivor: Winners at War episode 2 sneak peek video shows how determined Amber is not to give up on her dream of re-entering the game or helping her husband, Boston Rob.
It seems as though she’s one of the few players Jeff Probst suggested who needed a possibility to return to the game was Amber, as she does not entertain the idea she left four kids at home to finish in 19th place.
In order to prevent him from breaking out of his self-imposed Survivor house arrest, Tony has built a ladder in the second sneak peek video. It looks like the most shoddily-built ladder I’ve seen on the show, yet he plans to use this 20-foot monstrosity to climb up and grab the papaya his tribe needs. Tony would rather break a leg (literally) than look suspicious at his camp, it seems.
If we have these smaller, hilarious, character-building scenes in a season with Edge of Extinction in play, hopefully, the balance in the edit won’t be as game-oriented as I had once thought! We’ll just have to see when episode 2 airs on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET.
