Times are incredibly bleak right now. We all need a distraction from the weary world we live in, and Survivor: Winners at War has proven to be enthralling television that has been able to break through the darkness to provide a bit of light. Sure, you might not agree if you’re Boston Rob Mariano and was voted out in the last episode, but it’s not his first time being voted out before the merge.

Whether or not that was a good move by Adam and Ben to give away their tribal advantage heading into the Final 14 remains to be seen, as neither of them would know that the next round would involve two Tribal Councils. That’s right, Survivor: Winners at War episode 6 will feature two tribes going to their own separate Tribal Councils for a double-elimination episode.

Sele’s story has evolved from the beginning battles to the worn-away scars of a lover’s quarrel resurfacing within the game. Michele and Wendell seemed to not be able to mend the bridges of their relationship (one where Michele calls Wendell her ex-boyfriend where he says they “kicked it”), and that can have a long-term effect on both of their games so close to the merge.

Finally, Dakal is in a position where someone can be eliminated by default due to a lack of advantages protecting them from a vote. With Jeremy able to secure safety without power by leaving Tribal Council before the vote and Kim, Sandra, and Denise each having a Hidden Immunity Idol, we’re in a spot where Tony Vlachos can go home without a vote cast in his name. That, quite frankly, is a ridiculous scenario that shouldn’t even be possible to occur, especially at the Final 14 before the merge.
