Survivor Winners at War Loved Ones visit press photos: From the Edge (and beyond)
Little did we know that the Edge of Extinction would be visited by loved ones, so these Survivor: Winners at War press photos show episode 10’s bonus snaps.
This piece will discuss the events of Survivor: Winners at War episode 10, “The Full Circle,” as well as showcase moments from the Immunity Challenge.
If there was ever a time to advocate for 90-minute or 2-hour episodes of Survivor: Winners at War each week, it would be in an episode where we spent less than six minutes of players at camp developing their characters or strategizing for a vote. We also had just a few minutes of Tribal Council before advantages became the focus, as we saw a very rushed, incoherent episode.
A big reason for that is the fact that the focus of episode 10, “The Full Circle,” was on the families on the Loved Ones’ Visit. We didn’t even get a challenge, as players laid down their arms and focused on the important people with them on the island thanks to Fiji Airways™. It was a surprise that everyone got to enjoy the experience, including those on the Edge of Extinction.
That’s why we’re doing a special Survivor: Winners at War Loved Ones’ press photos piece, providing pictures from the Edge that were made available first earlier today. We also have some official screengrabs, indicating that we might lose professional photos starting next week.
It does pay to not be on the Edge of Extinction, as the families still in the game got to experience barbequed food with all the fixins to enjoy.
This picture captures the sheer magnitude of what Survivor means to the castaways. It also presents an interesting dynamic where you can’t help but notice families bonding over other families while those who are single like Michele or without kids like Nick don’t have those shared experiences.
You can tell just how much this family visit means for those ripped away from the game seen by those on the Edge of Extinction, with Adam Klein running out as close to the beach as possible while others are taking in their emotions at their own pace.
There’s no waiting until hitting the beach before the hugs begin, as these family members are willing to get a little bit wet to hug those on the Edge.
Thankfully, Wendell finally got to experience a true visit, as he had to say goodbye to his dad early in exchange for a trip to Ghost Island during the titular season.
Adam Klein’s Survivor journey is riddled with hardships, as he almost got on in Blood vs. Water with his mother, Susie. Having won his first season days before Susie passed, seeing Adam embrace his dad and get some semblance of closure made it hard not to shed a tear. I know I failed in that regard.
Boston Rob and Amber got to bring their kids to the game, bringing another full circle to a close after each of their four daughters typically got to wear each season’s buffs to promote each season (even ones without their parents). Now they’re here for the real deal.
Parvati’s opening moments of the season focused on reconnecting with her former players while also worrying a hell of a lot about missing her newborn daughter. Now she’s back with both her and former Survivor alum and husband John Fincher, bringing more show connections to the forefront.
I’m still upset that we didn’t get to see anything from Nadiya and Natalie reconnecting and sharing a bond over the fact that now both of them have been voted out first. I guess Auntie Twinnie time is more than good enough.
It was great to see the emotionally reserved Yul Kwon break down and show more of his humanity. He’s a multifaceted character that sometimes gets caught up in “layers of duplicity”-tier talk.
You can tell how little cover and shelter they have on the Edge of Extinction by seeing just how tan Danni Boatwright is when talking to her sun. That’s a deep bronze on her arm.
Considering the number of dark times we’ve seen concerning Ethan Zohn this season, seeing his wife again looked to be the exact thing he needed.
