16. Blood vs. Water (Season 27)
Previously playing on Tocantins and Heroes vs. Villains, Tyson Apostol was always viewed as a threat, which ultimately led to his demise—even if part of that was his own doing in HvV. However, he came out with his girlfriend, Rachel Foulger, in Blood vs. Water and submitted one of the best beginning-to-end performances in the show’s history. Whatever was the right play at a given time, Tyson made it and won the title of Sole Survivor for his trouble.
There were strong characters outside of Tyson on the season as well, and not just the returning players. Vytas Baskauskas (brother of Aras) was a fun player to watch, if not a polarizing one. What’s more, it’s impossible not to love Tina Wesson, even in her third time playing. She just has a way of making fans enjoy her presence.
With that said, Tyson’s dominance factors into this being an overall average season of Survivor. Also weighing it down are another appearance by Colton (never again) and some weird storylines, including Kat Edorsson having an odd reaction to playing with her boyfriend, Hayden Moss.
Also, did you know the Ciera voted out her own mother? Crazy, I know.
