Survivor: Russell Hantz’s Top 100 Greatest Survivors Ever (40-31)
32. Rupert Boneham (Pearl Islands, All-Stars, Heroes vs Villains, Blood vs Water)
Rupert Boneham is one of the six players to have played four times, but he’s yet to win or even make it to the end in any of those four seasons. Rupert immediately became a fan favorite for not only looking like a pirate, but taking to the pirate theme in Pearl Islands right off the bat.
Rupert has since proved that he’s not really great the game of Survivor, but he was a good old school player in that he was a provider and a competitor. He was the first one out in Blood vs Water, but only because he stepped in to allow his wife Laura a chance to play the game, something he had done three times already.
I’m surprised Rupert is this low due to him being the biggest name the show has ever seen (next to maybe Boston Rob), but I’m okay with it because I’ve never been his biggest fan. He bullied people whenever he didn’t get his way and he’s also just not good at the game.
31. John Cochran (South Pacific, Caramoan)
We first met John Cochran in Survivor: South Pacific and he seemed like a surefire pre-merge boot on the Savaii tribe. He somehow made it to the merge though and ended up flipping on his tribe because they hadn’t exactly treated him with respect up to that point. He didn’t last much longer that season, but returned for Caramoan, where he played Survivor‘s second only perfect game.
Cochran ran things pretty much throughout Caramoan and even won a challenge! He was a completely different player the second time around and the confidence showed. His winning game gets forgotten about simply because there have just been so many great winners, but the fact that he played the second only perfect game speaks for itself.

We only have 30 entries left! There are still so many great players we haven’t seen yet and I’m excited for the next ten to be revealed next week.
