Survivor has had its fair share of scary moments during its 20 years on the air.

Survivor has been on the air for two decades now and that opens the door to some truly scary moments to take place while the show is filming. Let’s  take a look at the scariest moments ever to occur on Survivor during its long run.

5. Brandon’s freakout (Caramoan, Season 26)

Caramoan wasn’t a great season and part of that was that the cast fell completely flat. The fans that season were some of the worst players ever casted and the favorites tribe was also a strange selection of picks.

One of the favorites who showed he shouldn’t have been invited back was Brandon Hantz, who originally played on South Pacific. We all remember Brandon because he was Russell Hantz’s nephew (that was even his occupation listed during South Pacific) and were reminded about it every five minutes in both of his seasons.

Throughout the pre-merge portion of Caramoan, there had been a bit of a tiff between Brandon and fellow tribe mate Phillip Sheppard. Brandon didn’t like Phillip and thought he was a bully, so he called him out for it.

Things went south quickly after, as Brandon took it upon himself to dump out Bikal’s rice during a temper tantrum. At the immunity challenge, Bikal voluntarily gave up immunity so that they could go to tribal council, which Jeff Probst decided to hold right then and there. Everyone vocally voted Brandon out, but not before he and Phillip got into a screaming match.

Jeff probably had to hold tribal council at that exact moment because sending Brandon and Phillip home together probably would have resulted in the first ever physical fight on Survivor. It was scary when Brandon dumped out the rice though because it really did feel like he was about to do something a lot more dangerous.

Fortunately no one was hurt and we didn’t have to hear about the Hantz family for the rest of the season.
