Best pre-Idol blindsides in Survivor history- No. 6: Rupert (Pearl Islands, Season 7)

Pearl Islands had some of the best blindsides in Survivor history and fan-favorite Rupert was one of those blindsides. Rupert was in a good position to win Pearl Islands, as he was a provider for his tribe throughout and performed well in challenges. He had built mostly good relationships and felt comfortable with his alliance.

Unfortunately for Rupert, Jonny Fairplay doesn’t play fair and knew Rupert had to go if anyone else wanted to have a shot at a million bucks and the title of Sole Survivor. Pearl Islands was the best shot Rupert had at winning Survivor, as he never fully grasped the concept of playing strategically. His blindside in Pearl Islands isn’t just one of the best pre-idol blindsides, but one of the best blindsides in Survivor history.

Best pre-Idol blindsides in Survivor history- No. 5: Christy (Amazon, Season 6)

The second blindside to appear from Survivor: Amazon is that of Christy. The reason why Christy’s blindside is so epic is that she got on a power trip and was convinced that she was the swing vote. The problem was that she couldn’t give Rob enough insurance that she was on his side and he turned the tables on her.

Had Christy simply told Rob what he wanted to hear, she might have made it through that vote. Instead, Rob, Jenna, Heidi, and Matthew wrote her name down and knocked her out of the game.
