Best Survivor Winners No. 35: Mike Holloway (Survivor Worlds Apart)

Mike Holloway is a challenge beast; there’s no way around that. Although he didn’t know it at the time, he would be safe from the vote from Day 24 on all the way to Day 39, immediately after all-time Top 3 challenge beast Joe Anglim was voted out.

The problem, however, is that Mike needed to win all those challenges down the line, as he made poor decisions in his post-merge game.

Despite putting himself in a great spot with a merge alliance, he torpedoed his own game while trying to take down others.

He called out people in his alliance unnecessarily. When acting as tribe leader of the Blue Collar tribe, he would act in a brash way that often started arguments, showing poor leadership.

In a season marred by general nastiness towards others in a group affectionately called the “Dirty 30,” Mike Holloway serving as a flawed, but deserving, winner is just par for the course.
