When most people think about the most iconic Survivor players ever, three of the people they envision are Sandra Diaz-Twine, Tony Vlachos, and Parvati Shallow. While those three Survivor Hall of Famers are all iconic, it would be easy to argue that "Boston" Rob Mariano is widely considered to be the most noteworthy Survivor player ever.

Given Boston Rob's larger-than-life reputation for being a strategic mastermind, he has often been asked to express his opinions about Survivor and other reality shows. That is also why there has been a lot of interest when Boston Rob has expressed opinions like a Survivor advantage should be banned for good. Now, fans will be be able to hear more of Boston Rob's opinions than ever before because the Survivor icon will be hosting a new podcast with a former rival.

"Boston and Bob the Drag Queen launch "The Traitors Official Podcast"

In January 2026, "The Traitors Official Podcast" was announced to be published alongside the release of The Traitors season 4 episodes. While that alone is interesting enough, the choice of who will be hosting the podcast is what truly makes the announcement tantalizing for The Traitors and Survivor fans alike. As a Variety article about the podcast revealed, it will be hosted by "Boston" Rob Mariano and Bob the Drag Queen.

During The Traitors season 3, Mariano and Bob the Drag Queen were rivals. After Mariano felt that Bob the Drag Queen endangered his fate in the game, he targeted his rival. Mariano was then able to practically single-handedly convince his fellow players to banish Bob the Drag Queen. To the credit of both reality stars, they have notably been very friendly with each other post-game. Even still, the fact that they will be podcast co-hosts is an amazing twist given their one-time rivalry.

Mariano and Bob the Drag Queen's past relationship definitely isn't the main reason why them hosting a podcast together is so exciting. Instead, it is their personalities that makes the podcast announcement a brilliant move for Peacock. Since Bob the Drag Queen and Mariano are both highly articulate and intelligent people who aren't afraid to express their true opinions, listening to their takes on The Traitors will almost certainly be fascinating.

There is yet another reason why Mariano hosting a podcast is a brilliant idea. In the reality show podcast space, there is nobody who has been more successful than Rob Cesternino. With that in mind, it is interesting to note that "Rob Has a Podcast" host clearly respects Mariano's mind for reality shows. In January 2026, Cesternino told The Wrap that before he left to compete during The Traitors season 4, he spoke to Mariano about how to handle himself in the game.

“I did talk with Boston Rob before I went and, really, there’s no better person you could talk to going into a reality competition … his advice to me was: 'Hey, Cesternino, when you go out there, if I were you, don’t say anything, be quiet, just only talk in the confessional.' That was his advice to me. I can’t say whether or not I followed it.”
