After Kishan was voted out in Survivor season 47 episode 4, the Lavo Tribe was back at camp talking about what went down at the tribal council. With Teeny having been left out of the vote, she is scared about her future with her tribe. And while she and Rome have a chat about what happened, in his confessional chat, he straight up says that his trust is broken.

Rome makes it clear that he wants Teeny to feel like she is at the bottom of the tribe.

This episode of Survivor starts off immediately with a challenge. And as the tribes walk up, they quickly realize that the day 9 reward challenge is only for two tribes. As Jeff starts the explanation for what is in store for the Survivors, he makes it clear that this is a new twist.

For this twist, there will be a random draw to form two teams. The two teams are strictly for the reward challenge. Whichever team wins will celebrate together with their reward.

The Reward Challenge

For this week's Reward Challenge, the two teams will have to race under a structure where they will be collecting keys along the way. Then they must unlock a ladder, guide it through a maze, and then use it to collect five balls. Then they race on so that they can land those five balls on five platforms.

The winning seven for this challenge will be taken to the Sanctuary for a new reward called the Survivor Social Hour. They get to barbecue hot dogs, play cornhole, and chat with their team mates to potentially forge new alliances and bonds.

Between the blue team and the yellow team, the blue team ends up with an early lead. However, once they get to the ladder maze, it is the yellow team that ends up overtaking the other team quickly by working together and communicating with each other. However, once they get to the ball toss, it quickly ties up and it becomes a neck and neck battle.

In the end, the winner of the Reward Challenge is the yellow team! Among the winners on that team are Teeny, Caroline, Sam, and Sue. And Teeny is the only Lavo on the winning team, which means that she can tell her own tale without anyone counteracting what she says.

At the Social Hour, all the players get pretty honest about their tribes and what is happening. Although Sam denies that he and Sierra are leading their tribe. Tiyana shares that Gabe is hunting for idols, putting a target on his back, which definitely doesn't go over well with Sue.

Tribal Chatting

On the Lavo beach, Rome and Sol end up chatting and the former decides to spill everyone's secrets. He tells Sol all about the idol that Teeny has, while also admitting that Genevieve has made it clear that she doesn't want to work with him in the long run. Basically, Rome throws everyone under the bus in an effort to get Sol to potentially help him to get Teeny out of the game.

The Gata tribe is back at camp with their chickens. And they decide that they need to let their chickens out of the cage. With the fishing gear they won, Andy, Sierra and Anika try to catch some fish to eat with no luck.

While fishing, the winners from the Reward Challenge arrive back at the beach, and share the news of what went down at the Social Hour. This includes Sam revealing to Sierra that other tribes think that they are a power duo.

Teeny returns to the Lavo beach to share what happened at the Social Hour, although she doesn't give the full truth. After Rome wanders off, Sol and Genevieve tell Teeny what happened while she was gone, admitting that Rome told them everything, blowing up everyone's game.

Back at the Tuku tribe, they talk about how they believe that the Lavo tribe is a mess. Sue tells Gabe that Tiyana threw him under the boss at the Social Hour. Caroline wants Tiyana to tell Gabe what happened, which leads to a chat where Tiyana tells Gabe that she shared that he played the idol at the first tribal council.

The Immunity Challenge

When Gata arrives at the Immunity Challenge, they decided to bring their chickens. They want to propose a trade with Jeff. They want 24 eggs for their three chickens. Jeff comes back with 15 eggs for the three chickens and on negotiation, they agree to 18 eggs for the chickens.

For the Immunity Challenge, the teams have to drag very heavy net with coconuts and sandbags on a course, collecting more of both along the way. Then they have to throw the sandbags at a puzzle wall to know all the blocks down. Then they have to reassemble the puzzle.

As always, the first two tribes to win get immunity. Of course, there are sit outs for this challenge, with Gata sitting out Anika. On Tuku, Sue is the sit out.

Once the challenge starts, all three teams seam to be neck and neck. However, Tuku quickly takes the lead thanks to Kyle. Lavo is next, with Gata struggling to get the sandbags and coconuts loose.

While Tuku is the first team at the puzzle wall knocking down the blocks, Lavo catches up pretty quickly. That being said Tuku is able to knock down all their blocks first in order to start rebuilding their puzzle wall.

Gata ends up catching up once they get to the puzzle wall, knocking down all of their blocks for the puzzle wall before Lavo can do it. In the end, Tuku is the first team to finish, winning immunity.

In the fight for the second immunity, both Gata and Lavo are neck and neck. And in a nail biter, Lavo pulls off the win with seconds to spare, even after Sol ends up falling down on the rush back to the mat. Sadly this means that while Gata earned their eggs, they have no way to make them after losing their flint. And of course, they also have a tribal council ahead of them where someone will be the latest Survivor player voted out.

The Tribal Council

Ahead of Gata heading to tribal, it is clear that there are a lot of chats happening and it is so confusing. Andy thinks he is a mastermind, while other members of the tribe think they have the key to the island. At this point the names being floated around are Andy, Anika, and maybe as a decoy, Sam.

Once they get to the Tribal Council, they start by talking about the Survivor Social Hour and what went down there. And even the chat about what could be coming with this vote feels harmonious, like there is no real division in this tribe. But we all know once the voting happens, everything could change. Andy is the last person to talk before the vote and as he says, it's all about hope and seeing what will happen.

So who is really going home from the Gata tribe? Sam never plays his one time idol, leaving it all up to the votes. And the votes end up going the way he expects them to.

Anika is the fifth person voted out of Survivor 47

As she gets ready to leave, Anika is upset. And she reacts to the vote by asking who did it, with Sam and Andy admitting it was them and that there were three votes that sent her home. She walks off in tears after her torch is snuffed, refusing to say goodbye to the people who betrayed her.
