Survivor 51is already gearing up to be a big season as far as gameplay and in-game narrative is concerned, but will it also make history as the third season in a row to evacuate a player for medical reasons?
In a new sneak peek clip from episode 2, “Weaponized Honesty,” we get an extended cut of a fleeting moment at the end of last week’s “Next Time onSurvivor” preview where Brady Booker cuts his hand in a pretty gnarly way.

In what seems to be an everyday camp moment, we see members of the Toka tribe around the fire, working to build it up while Brady Booker is off chopping wood—or something that we can’t see—very aggressively. The fire is going well, but then we hear a strangled groan from off-camera and all our castaways look over to see Brady literally running through camp, trailing blood behind him as his hand gushes.
As soon as he kind of realizes what happened, he rushes up to a producer and asks if he just knocked himself out of the game to which they adamantly reply he’s fine, he just needs to continue to put pressure on it until the medic arrives.
And as the clip continues, Brady couldn’t even care less if he just lost a finger. All he cares about is whether or not he’ll be able to stay in the game. But before we find out his fate, the video cuts off with Mike Pinsky in a confessional telling us how much Brady cared about making sure he was staying in the game.
Now, using my deductive reasoning skills—on top of the fact that the producer involved in the moment clearly tells him he’ll be fine—I’m going to say right off the bat that no, Brady is not leaving the game anytime soon. At least not because of what he did to his hand.
Based on previous seasons, the “sneak peek” clips we get usually happen within the first 5-10 minutes of the episode airing; they never involve anythingtoospoiler-y. So combining the fact that this is likely an early moment in the upcoming episode as well as the fact that we’ve seen pictures of Brady competing in this week’s immunity challenge, it looks like he’s sticking around after this incident.
But the other big moment we get confirmation of from this sneak peek is the fact that Lewis Kelly will in fact return from Exile Island to the Toka tribe, replacingAaliyah Pugliawho was eliminated last week.
But we’ll have to wait until episode 2 airs this Wednesday, September 30 at 8 p.m. on CBS and Paramount+ to find out if all our guessing is accurate. Because, hey! In the season of permanent uncertainty, I wouldn’t put it past our fearless leaderJeff Probstand the entire production to try and shake things up with the previews as well!
