On Fire with Jeff Probst has its new cohost for Survivor 47, and it's a fan-favorite!

According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, Charlie Davis, the runner-up from Survivor 46, will be the new cohost on Probst's podcast, On Fire with Jeff Probst, for Survivor 47. Charlie is joining Probst and Jay Wolff, the Survivor producer and super-fan, to talk about season 47. In my opinion, they nailed this pick!

Probst and Wolff just announced the news on the season trailer for On Fire with Jeff Probst on Wednesday, Sept. 11. They welcomed Charlie to the show on the new trailer.

"I'm so pumped to be here with you guys," Charlie said. "I'm literally buzzing right now, and I'm so excited to take you inside the mind of a Survivor player. There's a lot of chaos, a lot of paranoia, but we're going to dive into strategizing, to plotting, all of the decision-making that changes the game, literally, every single minute."

"So, I used to keep notes during every single episode of Survivor that I watched," Charlie continued. "So, I feel like this the perfect outlet for me to really nerd out about Survivor."

Probst also mentioned that the new episodes of On Fire with Jeff Probst will be available to stream immediately after each episode of Survivor ends on Wednesday nights.

Charlie joins a very small group of Survivor fan-favorites who have cohosted the podcast with Probst. For previous seasons, Rick Devens and Dee Valladares have joined Probst on the podcast. If you've never listened, it's basically meant to accompany the new seasons of Survivor. Probst and the gang talk about what is happening in the season, break down some of the big moments, explore trends in the game, and share insight about what might be going through players' minds throughout the new season. It's a must-listen for die-hard Survivor fans!

Charlie was one of the best and most popular players on Survivor 46. He formed an instant alliance with Maria Shrime Gonzalez that got both of them into the final six before Maria made a disastrous move to backstab her closest ally in the game.

Then, when Charlie made it to the final three following Ben's surprising win at the final immunity challenge, Maria cast basically the winning vote to crown Kenzie Petty as the winner of season 46. There was lots of drama. It's been documented, but there are many fans who feel that Charlie should have won Survivor 46.

And, he's bringing all of that experience with him to the podcast, which I think is a great thing for the podcast and fans of the game. Charlie is one of the brightest and most calculated Survivor players of the New Era. That constant awareness of where the game is, what people are doing, and what they might do helped him and his alliance stay one step ahead of everyone else in the game.

I'm not alone in thinking Charlie is a great selection for the podcast. Probst told EW that Charlie was the one name that kept popping up when they had conversations with fans about who would be a great host for the podcast.

Here's why Probst is excited for Charlie to join the podcast, via EW:

"He brings something completely different than Devens or Dee. And he brings what you would think Charlie would bring, which is a really astute point of view to every single moment. You can ask him about any moment within an episode and he will say, ‘Here's what you should be thinking about, here's where I made a mistake, and here's what I wasn't thinking about.’ So I think fans are really going to enjoy it."

We are going to enjoy it, Jeff. And, if On Fire with Jeff Probst turns into a Taylor Swift fan podcast, I won't be mad either!

Remember, Charlie and Ben's famous song-name-off between Taylor Swift and Metallica in Survivor 46? I do, and it was fascinating. I also wouldn't be mad if they brought that game to the pod.

Survivor 47 premieres on Wednesday, Sept. 18. New episodes will air every Wednesday night throughout the season.
