When most Survivor fans put together their Mount Rushmore of the reality show's top players ever, Sandra Diaz-Twine is an obvious inclusion. Diaz-Twine's legendary status has also resulted in Survivor fans following the impressive reality show career of her daughter, Nina Twine.
In November 2025, it was announced that the mother-and-daughter duo will soon be a major part of a reality show. Unfortunately for Survivor fans who want to see them compete on that show, they won't be competing under the watchful eye of Jeff Probst. Instead, it has been announced that Diaz-Twine and Twine have joined the cast of Extracted season 2.
Mother-daughter duo Sandra Diaz-Twine and Nina Twine are coming to Extracted season 2

Entertainment Weekly published an article that exclusively revealed that the Queen of Survivor will soon make her reality show return.
As the outlet revealed, Diaz-Twine and her daughter, Nina Twine, will be competing to win $250,000 during Extracted season 2. Fans will have the chance to see the mother-daughter duo compete together during Extracted's season 2 premiere, which is set to air on January 26, 2026.
While the big news is that Diaz-Twine and Twine are making a return to reality TV, they won't be coming alone. As Entertainment Weekly's article shows, Twine's boyfriend, Eric Rivera, will also be part of the upcoming season. Unfortunately for him, he will have his fate decided by his girlfriend and her mother, Twine and Diaz-Twine, respectively.
Extracted is a show that features 12 amateur survivalists who are filmed as they live in the wilderness for three weeks. As the survivalists struggle to get by with limited supplies, each of them has loved ones who can fight to send them care packages or push an extract button. If the loved one opts to extract their survivalist out of concern for them, they lose any chance at getting the show's grand prize money.
As the above teaser video for Extracted season 2 shows, Diaz-Twine can be heard implying that her daughter's boyfriend will be dead to her if he doesn't stay in the wilderness long enough for them to win. "Bring home the win or don't come back." With a soundbite like that in mind, it certainly seems like Diaz-Twine will be completely against pushing the extract button. With that in mind, it seems like Rivera may only have Twine advocating for him.
However, since Twine won The Anonymous season 1 and she competed on Australian Survivor: Blood v Water and Australian Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains, she may have the same reality show killer instinct as her iconic mom.
