Easily one of the best reality shows ever created, Survivor has been going strong since it premiered in the year 2000. While Jeff Probst’s show remains a juggernaut, there is no doubt that finding more players with entertaining personalities for each season is the key to its ongoing success. Fortunately, there is an iconic star from another one of CBS’s reality shows that could instantly blow Survivor fans away.

First introduced to the reality show world when he competed on and won Big Brother 2, Dr. Will Kirby became a celebrated part of that show's history. After competing in the Big Brother house a second time, Dr. Will disappeared from the reality show landscape for more than a decade. Now that he has recently made a reality show comeback, Survivor needs to bring the self-professed "Golden God" to the beaches of Fiji.

Since Big Brother and Survivor are both CBS shows, there is a well-documented history of the two series having connections. For example, Big Brother cut one Survivor 49 cast member before Jeff Probst’s team chose her. Many fans have also argued that Survivor could learn from the Big Brother franchise. If Survivor cast Dr. Will Kirby, it would be learning from one of Big Brother’s greatest success stories.

During the two times he competed on Big Brother, Dr. Will did more to get himself evicted from the house than virtually anyone else has in the show’s history. Some of the highlights of his antics include telling his housemates he hates them all, promising to force them to eat slop instead of food, and constantly proclaiming how untrustworthy he is. Despite that, Dr. Will managed to win Big Brother 2, and he came in fourth place during Big Brother 7.

To say that seeing Dr. Will get away with being so openly chaotic was entertaining for viewers was a massive understatement. Even the vast majority of people who didn’t like the way the Machiavellian player behaved wound up loving to hate him because. After all, the Big Brother icon sported a smile during almost everything that he did. That kind of energy would bring something unique to Survivor’s so-called “new era.”

In case any observer thinks that Dr. Will Kirby may have lost a step since he last competed on Big Brother in 2006, his reality show return proved otherwise. When the Big Brother icon competed during Deal or No Deal Island season 2, he yet again created chaos in captivating ways that got under the skin of his fellow competitors, including the Survivor legend Parvati Shallow. In March 2025, Deal or No Deal Island season 2’s winner, David Genat, told TheThings about how flustered Dr. Will made him.

"I have always really prided myself on being as cool as possible in those big kind of moments because that's where it's really happens. You know? That's where good television is made. I've never been so flustered in my entire life like I have with Will. And maybe that's a testament to how good he plays the game."

Also a former winner of Australian Survivor, David Genat is one of the most charismatic and seemingly unflappable reality show stars ever. The fact that Dr. Will could get under his skin proves how unique he is in the history of reality TV. It would be amazing to see Jeff Probst trying to grapple with how to keep the chaotic and unique nature of Dr. Will under some level of control. For all those reasons, CBS needs to jump through hoops to get Dr. Will through the Survivor casting process and on the show as soon as possible.
