There’s not a doubt in my mind after watching episodes 1 and 2 of Survivor 51 that something unhinged is going to happen tonight during episode 3, “What I’m Smellin’ Is Stinky.”

It’s been a serious roller coaster this season and there’s only been TWO episodes!

I don’t think even Jeff Probst and the rest of the production crew and casting team could have predicted how insane this season would get—not from twists and advantages, but from the players themselves.

And while most of what’s happening tonight is still unknown (exactly how we like it!), there are a few things to be aware of before the latest episode airs tonight, Wednesday, October 7 at 8 p.m. on CBS and Paramount+.

How to watch Survivor 51 episode 3

We have another 90-minute episode tonight that you can watch live on CBS as well as Paramount+ (with the premium membership that includes streaming your local CBS affiliate live). But of course, you can always stream it next-day on both Paramount+ and CBS online.

Tonight’s episode is titled, “What I’m Smellin’ Is Stinky” and the official synopsis for it is: In the wake of a rocky tribal council, a castaway makes a shocking move. A mysterious Tree Mail delivers a game-changing twist. Then, two castaways secretly bond at tribal council in an attempt to change the course of the vote, on SURVIVOR…

Who is in danger going into episode 3?

At this point, both Toka and Savu have gone to Tribal Council, but Savu is down a member as Lewis Kelly joined Toka at the top of episode 2. And I’m still convinced that there’s no way Rob Antonson goes into the next episode without quitting. He literally WROTE HIS OWN NAME DOWN! You can’t come back from that…

But otherwise, there are a few players we predict have the lowest likelihood of making it through the night without getting their torches snuffed. Now that the tables are turned for Savu, I’m a little nervous for Carter Krull… despite being the one driving force in last week’s challenge for the tribe, he seems to be out of touch with the game though people believe him to be a secret mastermind (despite the fact he was talking about “eliminating” crabs and not players).

I’m also worried about Kristin Flickinger thanks to her injury. The purple tribe is already down a person and if there’s another who can’t perform in the challenge, that’s not going to bode well for a potential Savu comeback this episode.

What can we expect in episode 3?

After the “Next Time on Survivor…” preview at the end of the last episode, we know that a representative from each tribe will be visiting the other tribe. Some players questioned whether it would incorporate the mutiny twist, but I think it’s more likely that we’ll see something closer to Survivor: The Amazon’s mid-game summit.

It’d be a fun way to have a tribe swap early on without actually having a tribe swap since both tribes are still so large. But especially if Rob quits, we’ll be down to 18 players in a 10-8 division. Sending scouts to each camp to see how players perform (not just in challenges, but also socially and around camp) would be a really cool way for tribes to attempt to poach the best players.

I’m hoping that after the visit, the two representatives meet up and do a schoolyard pick of sorts to re-distribute the tribes. I would love to see players be more active in who they’re playing with—and against.

But as always, we won’t know until tonight!
