Since Survivor 49 began airing, many fans of the show have had a lot of complaints. Despite that, there have been several aspects of the season that have actually been pretty great. Perhaps the most obvious example of that was a Survivor 49 scene that may have featured one of the greatest moments in Jeff Probst's hosting career.

On top of the action seen onscreen during Survivor 49, the season's cast has created some fascinating headlines as they react to episodes airing. Fans learned about Alex Moore complaining about his tribemates choosing popularity over strategy, for example. As interesting as that was, it could be argued that one of the best things to come from Survivor 49 was a touching moment that took place between one of the season's cast members and a legend of the show.

Generational differences come into sharp focus as some castaways find it challenging to keep up with the younger players’ current lingo. Jawan Pitts and Ozzy Lusth recently shared a beautiful moment

For many of the biggest Survivor fans, myself included, the best part of the show has always been seeing and debating the strategic moves that players make. However, one of the lesser-appreciated parts of the show has been how heartwarming it can be to see players experience joy and growth. During Survivor 49 episode 10, "Huge Dose of Bamboozle," an underrated moment highlighted exactly that kind of scenario.

After Jawan Pitts didn't get to enjoy the spoils of a reward challenge, he chose to try to obtain prize for the other players who were left out by going spear fishing. As viewers watched Pitts swim out in the ocean, they heard him describe how he felt like he wasn't anything like one of Survivor's legends who famously caught lots of fish, Ozzy Lusth. Then, viewers got to see Pitt's joy as he spoke about the fact that he managed to catch a fish, even though it was small.

"I'm no Ozzy. I'm just this small, Black nerd from South Jersey. I feel like a fish out of water. This is new territory for me. The fish, the colors. It's like entering a new world. It is not easy. Uh-uh. It's like miss after miss. But finally, your boy snags one. I take it out the water and it's a baby fish... Hey, not bad for a city boy… But it feels really cool to come back with a little fish for the people that didn't win the reward."

When that episode aired, it turned out that Pitts was at a Survivor event held by two past players, Wendell Holland and Brice Johnston. At that #BriceAndWenPresent event, Pitts shared a moment with the Survivor Hall of Famer he talked about during the episode, as can be seen in a video that was shared on X.

In the video, Ozzy Lusth could be seen hugging Pitts and looking like he was sincerely happy for the Survivor 49 player.

The two men could also be seen talking, although their comments to each other can't be heard. However, based on the expressions on their faces during the touching interaction, Lusth looked proud of Pitts, who seemed overjoyed to be embraced by the Survivor legend.
