Ever the sweetheart, Sunday Burquest played a loyal game in Survivor Millennials vs Gen X, never voting against the Takali alliance.

Sunday Burquest was a quiet character on Survivor Millennials vs Gen X. At least, that’s what the editors of the show would make you think. For better or for worse, some players aren’t given the proper screen time to get fleshed out and appreciated. Whether or not including Sunday more during last season would affect the flow of the show remains to be seen, but her silence is odd.

Specifically, Sunday Burquest, to those on the island, was known as a social player. Several fellow castaways can attest to her intelligent, strategic play that she has spoken about in plenty of interviews, making it all the more frustrating that she got to speak directly to the camera a whopping ten times in her sole season on the show.

She’s the only player on Survivor Millennials vs Gen X that didn’t get a confessional on the episode she was eliminated. Even worse, on Sunday’s final two episodes, she never got the chance to highlight her effectiveness as a player with a confessional, despite making it all the way to Day 35.

In a season where David Wright, Adam Klein, Jay Starrett, and Zeke Smith were shown trying to evolve the strategic aspects of Survivor, where making moves and cutting off other players for being massive threats, Sunday Burquest was a breath of fresh air. Her mellow, wholesome approach to the game clashed with the flow of this season, which may be why she got a Purple Edit.

It’s perhaps one of the weaker aspects of Survivors Millennials vs Gen X, because Sunday has an incredible story. She has survived breast cancer and lived to share her story with remarkable courage. Her loyalty held true in a game known for its dishonesty.

As she turns 46 years young, we wish Sunday Burquest a happy birthday! In lieu of birthday presents, Sunday requests you make a donation to Michelle’s Place Breast Cancer Resource Center. We hope you have a great day.
