Nobody’s found it yet, but there is definitely some sort of secret power tucked away at the Nuku tribe camp going into Survivor Game Changers Episode 3.

Spoiler warning and possible spoiler discussion for Survivor Game Changers Episode 3 ahead.

Members of the Survivor Game Changers press got access to a fair bit ahead of this season. Crews competed in the first immunity challenge, they got to check in on tribal council after the first vote-off, they got some footage of players hanging out at camps; there was plenty to see and do in the early going.

Of course, members of the entertainment press are bound to secrecy by non-disclosure agreements and professional courtesy in exchange for this access, which is why Dalton Ross of Entertainment Weekly kept his mouth shut about a secret item that he found at the Nuku tribe campgrounds.

This is a follow-up to something he had mentioned before the season started, so it’s not like he’s spilling the beans on how Survivor Game Changers Episode 3 will shape up or anything. However, considering what we saw in the “Next time on Survivor” preview going into “Survivor Jackpot,” it may fit into a possible storyline.

As described in the synopsis, “One castaway leaves his tribemates stranded in the ocean so he can search their camp for the immunity idol.” We see that to be J.T., as it shows in the post-swap footage that he’s on the outs with his tribe. He’s the only original Nuku member left, meaning he needs to sneak his way into whatever advantage he can get.

I don’t think it is a hidden immunity idol, however, as the video showcases one hidden at the upcoming Green tribe’s puzzle board for the next immunity challenge. It could be a secret advantage on the level of an extra vote or something else that doesn’t guarantee immunity, or I could be talking out of my butt, and it is a straight-up hidden immunity idol that doesn’t require a huge risk.

Jeff Probst said that there wasn’t going to be consistency to where the idols are hidden this season, so we could see someone find a regular Idol in Survivor Game Changers Episode 3 in two completely different ways.

One thing we know for sure; whoever finds it should know how to use it best in this ever-changing season of ups and downs.
