Survivor Kaoh Rong alum Scot Pollard played for the 2008 NBA Champion Boston Celtics, but found out he was left out of a team reunion via Twitter

Among athletes to have played Survivor over the show’s now 34 seasons, former NBA center Scot Pollard’s appearance on Kaoh Rong might stand as as instance of one of the best performances for a Survivor athlete. However, he was ultimately ousted when part of his alliance, Tai Trang, turned on him by refusing to give him the Immunity Idol to save him as they’d previously agreed upon.

Now no longer in Cambodia, Pollard is again getting hosed by those he thought he was teammates with. Specifically, Rajon Rondo and the members of the Boston Celtics 2008 NBA Championship team really did the big man dirty.

On Monday, Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated published a feature stating that Rondo was hosting a reunion of the 2008 team this summer. The focus of the piece was that the enigmatic point guard had intentionally not invited Ray Allen, who left the Celtics to join the Miami Heat in 2013, because of his departure from the core group. That may have been on purpose, but even that seems better than being in Pollard’s shoes where he was left out in the cold entirely.

Pollard was not invited to the reunion at all. In fact, he hadn’t even heard of it until he found out about it on Twitter. Naturally, he tweeted his displeasure over the incident, noting that he used to help rein in Rondo when they were teammates:

He then followed that up with another tweet about the reunion, this one using a picture that even showed the former center with the rest of the Celtics:

Though he wasn’t excessively angry about the incident clearly, it’s apparent that this is rubbing Pollard the wrong way. And it’s not hard to understand why that would be the case. In The Undefeated feature, Rondo even made a point to note the lesser-known role players that were being invited. Yet he still overlooked Pollard.

Admittedly, Scot Pollard wan’t a key contributor for the Celtics in that season—which was incidentally his final year in the NBA. He appeared in only 22 games while also not playing in March or in any playoff game on the way to the title. However, he still got a ring and was still a member of the team. What’s more, if what Pollard says is true, he dealt directly with the man organizing the entire thing a number of times.

Hopefully Rondo and the rest of the Celtics rectify this with Pollard, or at least try as he might not accept an invitation at this point (who would blame him?). Though he was relatively divisive in Kaoh Rong, the big man is invited to come back and play Survivor again anytime, where the fans and former players don’t forget to include you.
