Want to know who’s going to win a challenge in Survivor Game Changers? So far, a fairly obvious clue has been visible in a consistent way each time.

This post does not dive into supposed leaks or boot lists floating around the internet, but looks at the editing we’ve seen so far. If you wish to retain the magic of Survivor Game Changers challenges, it’s best to avoid this post.

Half of the reason hardcore Survivor Game Changers viewers at home enjoy this show is not necessarily to cheer or boo specific players on but to look at the subtle clues within the direction and editing of the show. Survivor edgic (breaking down the logic behind how the editors portray characters in any given season) has been going on for more than half of the show’s history, and some of the more clever funny moments have come from the editing process.

However, one of our readers, Marshall, recently pointed out a glaringly obvious edit trick for Survivor Game Changers that has a 100% track record in predicting who will win a challenge. So far, this observation has been correct five out of five challenges before they even begin.

How can you tell a tribe is going to win a challenge in Survivor Game Changers? It’s simple; look at which tribe is in the challenge preview.

Before each immunity and reward challenge, Jeff Probst describes the obstacles within and the steps necessary for the tribes to overcome and win each challenge. For demonstration purposes, CBS uses what the Survivor crew affectionately dub the “Dream Team” as guinea pigs. In addition to filming the challenge previews for each episode, they also test out the challenge to see if it works and how well it can work to avoid any obvious exploits players may discover.

For each challenge preview, the tribe buffs the Dream Team uses has gone on to win that challenge every single time. Here’s the proof.

More from Season 34 Game Changers

I still count the Tavua tribe preview for the episode 3 challenge as even though Tavua didn’t come in first, they still won immunity and earned a reward deemed equal to Nuku. The only difference is that Nuku chose which reward that they would receive, as Tavua got the second reward.

Even so, that’s five times in a row on Survivor Game Changers where a team shown off in the preview does not lose the challenge. It’ll be hard to tell if it’s subliminal editing on behalf of the show or if the team they’ve highlighted so far just happens to win each challenge, but it’s downright odd to see happen so consistently.

I looked back on Survivor Millennials vs. Gen X to see if this is a recent phenomenon, and it only took the first three episodes (one of which had a preview tribe -> winner tribe transition) to determine that was not the case.

We’ll have to keep tabs going forward to see if this trend continues. Survivor Game Changers episode 5, “Dirty Deed,” airing on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET will let us know if this is anything more than an extreme coincidence.
