Survivor Game Changers: Here’s Who Ended Up Visiting Exile Island
Nope, Boston Rob didn’t end up flying out to Fiji for Survivor Game Changers. For the player that did end up coming, their job was to help out on Exile Island.
Spoilers for the last episode of Survivor Game Changers, “Vote Early, Vote Often.”
Last week, it was revealed that a former player was making their way to Survivor Game Changers. We proposed a few possibilities for who it was, with names ranging from overall neat lady Monica Culpepper to Boston Rob Mariano. I even suggested it would be Rupert Boneham, acting as some sort of reward like he was in the Israeli version of Survivor.
Little did I know I would be kind of right in the idea that a player would be returning to serve as a reward, but I didn’t figure that John Cochran would serve that role.
That’s right, as Debbie made her way to Exile Island (which I guess is a boat with all the fixins on it now?), she was visited by Survivor Caramoan winner and Survivor South Pacific Judas, John Cochran. He was there to provide an outside perspective on her game, as well as to offer his services as a reliable Survivor narrator.

There is so much going on in this episode of Survivor Game Changers, with the most surreal of them coming in this scene. Debbie revealing she’s met prime ministers and presidents alone is remarkable but being awe-struck by Cochran in comparison is something else altogether. She also said she felt secure in her spot in the game and that she had no reservations whatsoever (albeit before mentioning the Culpepper blow up later).
The fact that Debbie is so overconfident in the game is not a trait that slips by John Cochran, who seemed to be visiting Fiji for a couple of hours before flying immediately back to work for CBS. He offered plenty of great advice that would work for a player who had a chance to win Survivor Game Changers (if Debbie is that remains up for debate), as well as an advantage option that worked as a choose-your-own advantage.

While I’m up for former Survivor players to return to seasons to offer Exile Island support, I would hope that CBS would find a more neutral draw. Imagine if Andrea made it to the island? Hell, it would be straight-up awkward if Ozzy was the unlucky one to spend hours with the person who killed his game in Survivor South Pacific.
