Week after week, the Survivor ratings for Survivor Game Changers have been looking better and better. Episode 6 is no exception.

Yesterday’s episode of Survivor Game Changers was tough for longstanding fans of the series, but the potential of a swap and a returning player was enough to get people to turn in. The final ratings for Wednesday night are in and per usual, this week’s episode outperformed any other episode.

Survivor Game Changers episode 6, “Vote Early, Vote Often,” received a 1.7 rating and a 7 share of the active viewing audience last night using Live + Same Day numbers. While the Survivor ratings are slightly down strictly from the overall television audience over the last episode (ratings count all televisions, even if they’re not actively on), the episode still enjoyed 8.4 million viewers.

That is the most viewers for any episode of Survivor Game Changers this season, which debuted a two-hour special on March 8 to the tune of 7.64 million viewers. Episode 3 had a final viewer count of 7.87, episode 4 saw 8.1 million viewers and episode 5 finished with 8.26 million viewers.

Furthermore, Survivor Game Changers represented the most-viewed program on network television Wednesday night, with second place belonging to Criminal Minds on CBS (7.04 million). As such, the Survivor ratings were higher than any program during its time slot, as The Goldbergs finished in second with a 1.6 rating, 6 share and 5.63 million viewers.

I bring it up each week, but it still feels remarkable that the overall Survivor ratings continue to improve or hold still each week as scripted programming reaches the end game for their seasons. Having more viewers each week than the next only happens for the surprise hit shows, as breadwinners like The Big Bang Theory only exploded in popularity in the later years.
