The mini preview of Survivor: Game Changers’ seventh episode doesn’t stress twists so much as stress itself on the players.

Counting this upcoming week’s episode, and assuming we’ll have at least one episode per week until the finale on May 24Survivor: Game Changers has seven weeks left. That means we’re about at the halfway point of this season. In two weeks, we’ll actually have a double episode as well. Throughout the first six episodes, the emphasis has been on twists like swapping the number of tribes, Exile Island, immunity idols, two tribes voting out one person, and more. Naturally, the promos and videos CBS has released reflect that.

So, what does it say when fans see a promo like this one for episode 7, “What Happened on Exile, Stays on Exile?”

It says that the wild gameplay may be over, at least for now. No one shown in that promo looks happy or even ready to start plotting. Sarah kicks things off by saying “I’m irate right now,” and it just goes downhill from there. Jeff Varner says he wants to “punch ’em all in the throat,” which also doesn’t sound good but at least makes some sense based on the fact that his closest ally in the game, Sandra, just went home. That suggests that there’s more to come on Nuku, especially when the promo has a look at everyone on the tribe except Debbie, however brief.

However, the teaser also gives us a peek at Mana. The general mood presented there is summed up by Aubry saying that “This game is hard,” and it looks like she and Brad at least will come close to tears. Cirie even saying that the game “breaks you down” also contributes to the feeling that instead of anger, sadness and a sort of listlessness will constitute the bulk of the story over there this week.
