In a week filled with reruns, the two-hour episode of Game Changers kept its strong Survivor ratings lead over the competition.

Thirteen players entered, eleven players remained. The Survivor Game Changers merge was a two-hour affair full of backstabbing, manipulation, maternal instincts and Ozzy not winning a single individual immunity challenge. Old tribal lines were cast to the wayside as players jockeyed for position in trying to control the game. For the Survivor ratings, it didn’t move the needle, though.

The final numbers for Wednesday’s television ratings are in, and the Survivor ratings and share remain quite as predictable as ever. Among adults aged 18-49, Survivor Game Changers episodes 8 and 9 received a combined 1.7 rating and 7 share. No other show that night had a rating higher than 1.0 or a share higher than 4, showcasing that CBS remains in control of the night at the 8 p.m. ET slot.

It certainly helped that most every other program airing this night was a rerun of a prior episode for each series, as Designated Survivor (10 p.m.) came in second with a 1.0 rating and 4 share. ABC also enjoyed 5.06 million viewers, coming in second place in all aspects of the Survivor ratings that night. Game Changers was watched by 7.92 million.

More from Season 34 Game Changers

Compared to last week, the show has been declining in viewership. The supernatural trend upwards, gaining more and more viewers each week, seems to have run its course, as this was the least-viewed merge episode in the show’s history.

Still, as the previous numbers show, the Survivor ratings prove that it remains top billing on Wednesday night, week in and week out. As television viewership remains on the decline for all broadcast channels, most networks will be affected top to bottom equally.
