Episode 10’s Sneak Peek for Survivor: Game Changers Doesn’t Reveal the Reward

In an interesting move, the sneak peek for Survivor: Game Changers this week doesn’t show the reward challenge, but rather the immunity challenge.

Although Survivor: Game Changers doesn’t air until this Wednesday, we already have footage of approximately 80 seconds from Day 26.

We’ll let that sink in for a second here. Day 26?

Never mind that this challenge is the one that can easily be figured out from the show’s press photos for the week. The reward challenge remains shrouded in mystery for now, it seems.

The question is: why show immunity over reward? We noted in our photo analysis that this challenge has appeared before. Here are a few possible reasons.

Is Survivor trying to hide that someone (likely Michaela, judging by the photos) doesn’t get to participate in the reward challenge? Sharp-eyed fans can deduce that simply from looking at the photos. (Pay attention to who shows up where as well as what everyone’s wearing, and you’ll see it.)

Perhaps the reward challenge is just so complicated that it can’t fit into the 80 to 90 seconds that these videos usually take up. The photos show that it appears to be a simple water obstacle course, but there’s likely something that doesn’t appear in the photos that make it more elaborate.

A third, but unlikely reason, is that something happens during the introduction to the reward challenge that the show wants to hide as a surprise. We say “unlikely” because why not show that moment and cut it off just before the revelation? Survivor has utilized that strategy before this season as well.
