Debbie Wanner’s the latest member of the Survivor: Game Changers jury, but could we see her on a future season of the show?

In her two times on Survivor, Debbie Wanner has made the jury both times. That’s not a bad record, all things considered. But, as Survivor: Game Changers continues, it seems fitting to ask for each eliminated player going forward whether or not we’ll see them again and what mark they’ve made on the game.

Before her appearance on Kaoh Rong, Debbie’s official CBS profile had her comparing herself to Coach Wade. (It also had her saying she was like Hannibal Lecter, but we’re just ignoring that for the sake of this discussion.) It honestly seems as though she’s on a similar trajectory as him in terms of when she plays as well; Coach was on seasons 18, 20, and 23. Debbie has now played on seasons 32 and 34. Does that pattern mean she’ll play on season 37, should we make it that far?

Well, it’s impossible to say at this point. Remember, Survivor has only snagged renewals for seasons 35 and 36 right now, which extends it into 2018. Even if there is a season 37 (and at this point, yours truly thinks that the show will just keep rolling along until Jeff Probst or CBS decide it’s not worth it anymore), there’s no guarantee it’d be a returnee season. Let’s be honest, though: Probst would probably find it hilarious that Debbie would thus mimic Coach’s pattern exactly.

But that doesn’t address the other question: does Debbie need to come back again? She did provide some drama all during her time on Game Changers. Whether it was reminding us of her Civilian Air Patrol job, blowing up at Brad Culpepper, or even talking all about how strong her alliance was right before someone in that alliance flipped to vote her out, she certainly kept things interesting. But how could that change on a future appearance? Would it even change? Has her story played out?

The answer is probably no, at least to our way of thinking. It seems especially apparent given some of Aubry’s confessionals in episode 10. She mentions that the behavior she saw from Debbie reminded her far too much of what happened before Debbie joined the jury on Kaoh Rong. It just seems as though Debbie might not have any other story to tell (even though she probably has more jobs to mention).
