Why did the first person to join the jury on last night’s episode of Survivor: Game Changers have their torch put out by Jeff Probst?

(Note: Need a Survivor: Game Changers recap for last night’s “Parting is Such Sweet Sorrow“? Surviving Tribal’s on the case.)

Last night, as part of the running Surviving Tribal betting game, I and my two colleagues all bet money on Andrea Boehlke to go home. Granted, the odds were not the greatest (3/2), but all three of us thought that was better than just getting our money back by betting on Brad.

At the time, my colleague pointed out that Andrea was a threat because of her immunity wins and her hold on the game, because she did have a hold on the game.

Here’s where the problem comes. Everyone else actually in the game knew it, too. Check out the votes from last night’s first Tribal Council:

Is that a 6-2 vote, with even Cirie, Sarah, and Michaela, who had worked with Andrea before, flipping on over to get her out? Yes, it is. That alone should tell you pretty much everything you need to know.

Because of the rushed nature of the episode, it’s tough to exactly assign full credit to everyone, but let’s focus on two major figures: Cirie and Sarah. Both of them specifically said that it could be right to get rid of Andrea. Now, Andrea herself had been angling to get Brad out, and as you can see in the video above, she did vote for him. She also had Aubry in on that vote.

However, it seems Cirie and Sarah both noticed two other things. First, Andrea actually had more immunity wins than Brad. (The immunity challenges certainly  Second, Andrea had gotten rid of threats like Zeke already, and he had also been targeting her.

During last night’s episode, Aubry started really bringing up the topic of a “Survivor resume.” It seems like she probably wasn’t the only person with that idea in mind. The jury has already had the chance to sit through plenty of Tribal Councils, and they’re paying attention. (Did you spot Zeke counting numbers during one of them last night? He was.) Andrea had a fine case to make already. If she had made it to that final Tribal Council, she likely would have had an even better one.

With all that in mind, we believe that Sarah and Cirie should take the bulk of the credit. Going forward, look for the two of them to try and play against each other. We saw the opening moves of that during the Michaela boot, but there’s almost certainly more to come in that realm.
