With a Survivor Game Changers Final Three that composed of two men and one woman, former Survivor players sounded off about this season’s winner.
With 20 players descending upon Los Angeles for the Survivor Game Changers finale, plenty of former players were in town for the festivities. Regardless of if they were in town or not, we got to see a lot of social media interaction with Survivor players, offering up their hot takes on tonight’s finale.
Here is what Survivor Twitter thought about the Survivor Game Changers finale!
Despite this being the last time we’ll watch a new episode of Survivor until September later this year, the excitement for former players was at a peak. Some were even throwing shade about their past performances!
Surprisingly, the big maze immunity challenge was the first of the night, setting up an epic battle between Cirie Fields, Sarah Lacina, Aubry Bracco, Troyzan Robertson, Brad Culpepper and Tai Trang. Brad stayed safe with a second-straight immunity challenge win, and brought Troyzan and Sarah to eat with him.
However, things got a bit tense when Brad started to get really aggressive with Tai, demanding he gave him an idol to show trust.adly, it was Cirie/Aubry/Tai who was voted out in sixth placing, earning the spot of the eighth jury member.
Sadly for them, Cirie was voted out in sixth placing, earning the spot of the eighth jury member despite not receiving a single vote. Sarah played the Legacy Advantage, Tai played an idol for himself and Aubry, Brad has the Immunity Necklace and Troyzan played the final HII.
Considering their edit in the tail end of Survivor Game Changers, it makes sense that Aubry went home in fifth place. It’s certainly a frustrating moment for her, too, as she’ll hit Survivor Ponderosa as the ninth juror wondering what could have been had Brad Culpepper not won a third-straight Immunity Necklace.
The final immunity challenge was the moment of the finale, as the winner both guaranteed their spot at the Final Tribal Council while also helping to control the fate of who would sit with them to face the jury.
Knowing a million dollars was at stake, Tai found himself upsettingly close to a guaranteed money position, but was ultimately voted out in fourth place. Nobody wants to be in that final jury spot, so the sympathy poured in from Survivor Twitter.
The Final Tribal Council was electric, with a tiring ten jurors asking the three remaining players about their thoughts, motivations and actions they took throughout the entirety of Survivor Game Changers. Jeff also tried to bring the questioning down to factors about outwitting, outplaying and outlasting others, for some reason. The open forum was a neat idea that I hope to see come back.
After casting their votes, Jeff Probst brought the votes back to America for the live reading in CBS Los Angeles. By a 7-3-0 vote, Sarah Lacina is your winner of Survivor Game Changers.
