Andrea Boehlke – Flipping on Zeke before Zeke flipped on her

Andrea’s in a fickle place in Survivor history. She has played in seasons 22, 26 and 34, the majority coming in the dark period of the show’s gameplay, casting choice and general gameplay quality. Redemption Island was the “Boston Rob wins a stacked season” story, while Caramoan was dampened by the ugly meltdown of Brandon Hantz and the over-the-top edit of over-the-top player Phillip Sheppard.

Despite that, Andrea Boehlke emerged from both seasons with a modest reputation, going deep in both seasons and looking to go further in Survivor Game Changers. Hitting the merge in a minority alliance, she worked with Cirie and Sarah in manipulating other players, determining who’s on their side and winning multiple Individual Immunity necklaces.

Most importantly, she worked her alliance members to learn that she was being targetted by Zeke. Knowing when to flip on your alliance is a balancing act, especially when your numbers aren’t so strong against the minority, is key, and Andrea took out Zeke before he took out her.

Had she not won so many challenges, she may have lowered her profile enough not to get targeted as a huge threat.
