She may not have had the hugest impact on Survivor, but with more than 2 million social media followers, Mari Takahashi is one of Forbes’ top gaming influencers.

Due to her early exit from Survivor Millenials vs. Gen X, we never really got to know Mara Takahashi’s gameplay style on the island. In her early confessionals, she played up more into the show’s theming, was known as a strategic threat, and compared her island life to her professional life; all centering around video games. She was the poster girl for the Millennial way of life; making a living through non-conventional means.

She’s been doing so to the tune of more than a million followers, whether they be the hundreds of thousands on Twitter, 770+ thousand on Instagram or several hundred thousand on Facebook. She can be seen in a number of online ventures, including Smosh Games and partnering with companies like Nintendo to promote products like the Nintendo Switch.

She may not have outwitted, outplayed, or outlasted many on Survivor Millennials vs. Gen X, but her recognition in the gaming content world has been noticed by Forbes, who listed her today as one of the Top 10 video gaming influencers of 2017.

Among the highlights of Mari Takahashi listed in her full profile include building up a profile back in 2010 after transitioning from her life as a professional ballerina. She’s got a great personality that has built her into the influential gaming entertainer she has been honored as today.

Considering CBS’ interest in doing another fan vote, I’m wondering, should Mari Takahashi get included in the list, whether or not she could influence her fans into voting her into another Second Chance-type season. She was considered an early threat, yet she didn’t have that much of an impact on the game.

As a Survivor fan that has seen the game evolve over the years, I’m sure she would definitely improve should she get the chance to try again.
